A Beautiful Garden Wedding at Bressingham Hall, Norfolk
A Beautiful Garden Wedding at Bressingham Hall, Norfolk
If you're dreaming of an outdoor wedding surrounded by incredible gardens, Bressingham Hall in Norfolk is a pretty special place to do it.
The gardens are undoubtedly one of the highlights of the venue. They're established, abundant and full of beautiful little corners, giving the whole place a wonderfully romantic feel — particularly on a sunny summer wedding day.
Nadine and Will made the most of them, choosing to hold their ceremony outside within the gardens before celebrating with their family and friends at Bressingham Hall.
Their styling complemented the setting beautifully, with soft neutral tones, fresh greenery and elegant florals running throughout the day.
An Outdoor Ceremony in the Gardens at Bressingham Hall
Nadine and Will's ceremony took place outside within the beautiful Bressingham Hall gardens.
It really is a showstopping setting.
With the gardens surrounding everyone and their closest family and friends gathered together outside, there was very little that needed adding. The natural backdrop did most of the work.
The ceremony itself was full of emotion, laughter and some lovely reactions from their guests — exactly the kind of moments I can quietly capture while everyone is concentrating on the two people standing at the front.
That's one of the things I particularly love about outdoor ceremonies. There is so much space for everything to unfold naturally, while the changing light and surroundings make the photographs feel completely connected to the venue.
Beautiful Styling Inspired by the Surroundings
Nadine and Will chose a palette that worked beautifully with Bressingham's gardens rather than competing with them.
Florals from Fig & Roses incorporated soft neutral tones and fresh greenery, complementing the natural surroundings and bringing everything together beautifully.
Inside, crisp white linens and greenery continued the look through the wedding breakfast, creating something elegant but understated.
Nadine looked absolutely beautiful in her gown from The Bottom Drawer Bridal, with makeup by Mrs Garrod MUA and hair by Megan Pizzey Hair completing her bridal look.
Relaxed Wedding Photography in the Bressingham Hall Gardens
From a photography point of view, those gardens are an absolute gift.
There are so many different areas to work with that couple portraits can feel much more like a relaxed wander than a formal photoshoot.
That's exactly how I approached Nadine and Will's photographs. We took a little time together amongst the gardens before getting them back to their guests, then headed outside again later when the light had softened.
And golden hour at Bressingham Hall was particularly beautiful.
That warm evening light completely transformed the gardens and gave us the perfect opportunity for a final handful of relaxed portraits before the evening celebrations properly got underway.
I never want couples to feel as though their photographs are taking them away from their wedding. A few short pockets of time throughout the day usually give us everything we need while allowing you to spend the vast majority of it where you belong — with your guests.
A Relaxed Norfolk Countryside Celebration
As the day continued, everyone gathered for the wedding breakfast and speeches before the celebrations moved into the evening.
By this point, the formalities of the day were over and everyone could simply relax — which is often when some of my favourite photographs happen.
The beautiful portraits and carefully chosen details are an important part of a wedding gallery, but so are the photographs of parents laughing during speeches, friends catching up over drinks and all those little interactions happening around the room.
They're the moments that tell you far more than simply what your wedding looked like.
They remind you how it felt.
Bressingham Hall Wedding Photography
Bressingham Hall is a gorgeous Norfolk wedding venue, but for me, it's the gardens that make it particularly special.
For couples wanting an outdoor ceremony surrounded by established gardens and countryside, there are some incredible spaces to work with throughout the day — and from a photography perspective, the variety of backdrops and beautiful natural light is wonderful.
Nadine and Will's wedding made the most of everything the venue offers: a ceremony within the gardens, a relaxed outdoor celebration, beautiful natural styling and portraits in the evening sunshine.
As a Norfolk wedding photographer, these are exactly the kinds of celebrations I love capturing — relaxed, beautiful and centred around actually enjoying the day rather than spending hours posing for photographs.
If you're planning your own wedding at Bressingham Hall or another beautiful countryside wedding venue in Norfolk, I'd love to hear what you're planning.
