An Elegant Summer Wedding at Baddow Park House

An Elegant Summer Wedding at Baddow Park House Louise and James celebrated their wedding at the beautiful Baddow Park House, with an outdoor ceremony, drinks in the gardens and an elegant reception filled with soft pink and white florals. It's a venue I would absolutely love to return to. From the gorgeous spaces inside the house to the gardens surrounding it, there are so many beautiful settings throughout the day — but one of my favourite parts has to be the space available for bridal preparations. And with Louise wearing the most incredible Suzanne Neville gown, it was a particularly lovely morning to photograph. Bridal Preparations at Baddow Park House Wedding mornings are one of my favourite parts of the day to document. There's something about those few hours before the ceremony — dresses hanging ready, makeup being finished, friends and family coming in and out of the room and that mixture of excitement and anticipation slowly building. Baddow Park House is particularly beautiful for bridal preparations. The rooms are elegant and filled with gorgeous natural light, giving everyone plenty of space to get ready while creating such a lovely backdrop for photographs. Louise got ready with her bridal party here, with Amber Harlow Makeup creating her beautiful natural makeup and Charlotte from Hair So Boho styling her hair in soft Hollywood waves. And then there was the dress. A Suzanne Neville Wedding Dress Louise chose a gorgeous Suzanne Neville wedding gown, and it suited both her and the setting at Baddow Park House perfectly. Suzanne Neville dresses are always such a joy to photograph. They're beautifully structured and incredibly elegant, with that timeless quality that looks just as good in photographs as it does in person. Rather than turning the morning into a photoshoot, I photographed all those final preparations as they naturally happened, alongside a few beautiful portraits once Louise was ready. It's one of the reasons I love allowing plenty of time for morning coverage. Those photographs become such an important first chapter of the wedding story. An Outdoor Ceremony at Baddow Park House Louise and James chose to marry outside in the grounds of Baddow Park House, surrounded by their family and friends. On a beautiful day, an outdoor ceremony here works so well. The house and gardens create an incredible setting without the ceremony itself needing to feel overly styled or formal. Afterwards, everyone could move naturally into the drinks reception outside, enjoying the gardens while I photographed everything happening around them. This is where I tend to work as unobtrusively as possible — capturing conversations, hugs, glasses being raised and all those little moments between guests while Louise and James could simply enjoy being newly married. Soft Pinks, White Florals & an Elegant Wedding Breakfast Inside, the wedding breakfast looked absolutely beautiful. Louise and James had chosen a soft palette of pinks and whites, with florals by Elly's Flower Studio bringing everything together. The result felt romantic and elegant without being overdone, and worked beautifully against the interiors of Baddow Park House. I always make time to photograph a finished wedding breakfast space before guests enter whenever I can. So much thought goes into those details, and there's something particularly lovely about capturing the room completely untouched before everyone takes their seats. Once it was full of people, the atmosphere changed completely — from carefully styled tables to laughter, speeches, reactions and glasses being raised around the room. Both deserve their place in the final gallery. Relaxed Wedding Photography at Baddow Park House One of the things I loved about photographing at Baddow Park House was the variety it gave us without needing to take Louise and James away from their wedding for long periods. Between the house itself and the surrounding gardens, there are plenty of beautiful places for portraits, so we could keep things relaxed and work around the natural flow of their day. My approach to couple photographs is always fairly simple: I'll find the lovely light, give a little direction where it's useful and then allow the two of you to be yourselves. It means we can create those gorgeous portraits you want without your wedding ever starting to feel like one long photoshoot. And for the rest of the day, I'm watching everything else unfold — the reactions during speeches, friends catching up, parents looking on and eventually everyone letting loose once the dance floor opens. Baddow Park House Wedding Photography From its beautiful interiors and bridal preparation spaces to the gardens for outdoor ceremonies and drinks receptions, Baddow Park House is a wonderful venue to photograph. Louise and James made the most of all of it: a relaxed morning inside the house, an outdoor ceremony and drinks reception, elegant pink and white styling and a brilliant evening celebration with Groove Approved. Their wedding was beautiful, but more importantly, it felt like them — relaxed, elegant and centred around enjoying the day with the people they loved. I'd absolutely love to photograph another wedding at Baddow Park House. If you're planning your own wedding here and you're looking for natural, relaxed photography with beautiful portraits alongside all the moments happening in between, I'd love to hear about your plans.
