An Elegant Summer Wedding at Worstead Estate, Norfolk Sian and Tom's wedding at Worstead Estate in Norfolk was one of those days that had everything I love about photographing weddings — a beautiful setting, incredible styling, a couple completely immersed in their day and, perhaps most importantly, one very special four-legged guest. Their gorgeous dog, Nacho. I'd actually met Nacho before the wedding when Sian and Tom brought him along to their pre-wedding shoot, and I'd completely fallen in love with him then. He was an older boy, a little wobbly on his legs and very clearly absolutely adored by the two of them. So when their wedding day arrived, there was never any question that Nacho would be part of it too. And quite frankly, he stole the show. Getting Ready at Worstead Estate Sian spent the morning getting ready at Worstead Estate surrounded by the people closest to her. Her naturally curly hair was styled beautifully by Charlotte Butler Hair, with makeup by Haylie Clarke Makeup, and I absolutely loved that her finished look still felt so completely her. And then there was the dress. Sian chose an incredible gown from Abigail's Collection, with the most spectacular ruffled tulle skirt. It was a proper showstopper. There are some dresses that completely come alive once they're being worn rather than hanging beautifully on a rail, and this was absolutely one of them. The movement in all that tulle was incredible to photograph and the whole look suited Sian perfectly. A Beautiful Wedding at Worstead Estate Worstead Estate is such a gorgeous setting for a Norfolk wedding. It has that wonderful balance of feeling elegant and special without a wedding needing to become overly formal — something that suited Sian and Tom's day perfectly. Ivy Floral Events created the beautiful florals, with styling and décor from Quirk Events, bringing everything together while still allowing the character of the estate to shine through. It's exactly the kind of venue I love photographing because there are beautiful spaces everywhere, but couples can still create a day that feels completely their own. Nacho — the Real Star of the Wedding And then, of course, there was Nacho. Having already photographed the three of them together at Sian and Tom's pre-wedding shoot, I knew just how much he meant to them. He wasn't simply a dog who made a brief appearance for a photograph. He was family. Nacho was older by the time the wedding came around and a little unsteady on his legs, but he was there amongst everything and was such a special part of the day. Sadly, Sian and Tom had to say goodbye to him not long after their wedding. It makes the photographs of them together incredibly precious now. And it's one of those things that reminds me why photographs of the seemingly small moments matter so much. Of course I want to create beautiful portraits and photograph all the incredible details you've spent months choosing. But I also want to notice who matters to you. Sometimes that's a grandparent watching quietly from across the room, your mum squeezing your hand just before the ceremony, your best friend laughing beside you... And sometimes it's an old, slightly wobbly dog who you've loved to pieces and couldn't imagine getting married without. Those photographs might not seem like the biggest photographs on the day. Years later, they can become some of the most important ones you have. Relaxed Wedding Photography at Worstead Estate Once the celebrations were underway, my priority was simply to let Sian and Tom enjoy them. That's always how I want the photography to fit into a wedding day. We'll make time for family photographs and beautiful couple portraits, of course, but I don't want you disappearing for hours while your wedding happens somewhere else. Worstead Estate gives us so many gorgeous options for photographs that there's absolutely no need for that. We could make the most of the Norfolk countryside and the beautiful surroundings while keeping everything relaxed, before sending Sian and Tom straight back to their guests. And yes — naturally we made sure Nacho appeared in the photographs too. A Relaxed Norfolk Wedding Celebration The rest of the day was filled with exactly what a wedding should be — brilliant food, music, conversation and everyone Sian and Tom loved together in one place. Kavolini provided the music, with food from Back to Your Place and Chip Buckets, while Bewilderly, Epic Events Norfolk and Array Wedding & Event Hire helped bring together the details throughout the celebration. Confetti Content Weddings was also there capturing behind-the-scenes moments alongside me throughout the day. As afternoon turned into evening, everything moved naturally from the elegance of the ceremony and drinks reception into a proper celebration. Exactly as it should. Worstead Estate Wedding Photography Sian and Tom's wedding was such a joy to photograph, and Worstead Estate is absolutely a Norfolk venue I'd love to return to. Beautiful spaces, gorgeous countryside and plenty of opportunities for photographs without needing to take couples away from their celebration for long — essentially everything I want from a wedding venue. But when I think back to this wedding, it's not actually the venue, the flowers or even Sian's spectacular dress that I remember first. It's Nacho. Knowing how precious those photographs became so soon afterwards makes me incredibly grateful that he was there and that we made sure he was properly included in the story. Because ultimately that's what I want a wedding gallery to become. Not simply a collection of beautiful photographs, but a record of your people, your relationships and everyone you couldn't imagine celebrating without.
